Hazelwood Harvests helps people like you elevate their everyday dining experience so that every meal is second to none. Our beef is the best that this province has to offer.
These days there are a lot of question marks around the food we eat. Where did it come from? Who raised it? Where was it packaged? What went into growing it? What’s the environmental impact (this one comes up a lot)?
We know agriculture, even if we can’t consistently answer these questions. So we decided to be the change we want to see in the world. Being from agricultural families, we know the good, the bad, and the ugly about food production and we’ve decided to take the bad and the ugly out of it.
How are we different?
We want to bring the grasslands back to our ranch in the most historically accurate way possible. This means we are planning on planting every acre of our ranch back to grasses native to the great plains.
Now you might be wondering “What does that have to do with beef?” Well, the native grasses have evolved over the millennium to coexist with grazing animals. They keep their nutritional value late into the winter which allows the animals to graze for much longer periods. That means no confinement, no stress, and fewer chances of injuries. And that’s what makes our beef better.
How is our beef raised?
Our beef is raised with no grains, no hormones, no confinement and no stress. All of these production practices make a difference in the quality of the meat. And when you pair our beef with a fine Cabernet Sauvignon, you’ll know you’ve just experienced something special.
Our beef is 100% grassfed and it is raised with an emphasis on meat quality, positive environmental impact and reduced animal stress so you can take the guilt out of your eating experience. When you add the convenience of buying in bulk, you can’t lose.
Who we are
We are motivated ranchers who are dedicated to bringing their customers the best-tasting beef that the Saskatchewan prairie can produce. Growing up in agriculture, they know what it takes to make great food. They take sustainability very seriously. We operate with a focus on restoring the grassland ecosystem. As well as producing great beef. Located in the RM of Hazelwood, our cattle graze the best grasses the province has to offer.
